NC-SARA Coronavirus (COVID-19) Responses to Institution Payments, Data Reporting, Institution Renewals

Updated by on Fri, 03/27/2020 - 11:49

NC-SARA staff is aware the Coronavirus (COVID-19) has had an impact on staffing at both institutions and SARA State Portal Entities. We wanted to notify you of some specific activities implemented by NC-SARA staff.

E-Check Payment Options

NC-SARA now offers two online payment options for your convenience. Pay online using either your credit card or bank account. If those options are not available to you, you may pay us by mail using a regular bank check. Please note that, due Covid-19, check payments received by mail may incur a delay in processing. If you have any questions or need technical assistance with processing a payment, please do not hesitate to contact us at accounting@nc-sara.org or by calling us at 303-848-3764.

Data Reporting

NC-SARA staff is aware that the Coronavirus (COVID-19) has had, and will continue to have, an impact at both institutions and SARA State Portal Entities. For reporting data this year, the reporting window will be a week longer starting May 15, 2020 and concluding June 15, 2020.  For reporting Enrollment data institutions will submit disaggregated fall IPEDS 2019 data. For reporting out-of-state learning placement (OOSLP) data - the learning placements reported will be from the 2019 calendar year. We will work together (states, institutions, and regional compacts) later this year about how we will deal with reporting for 2020.

Institution Renewals

While institution renewal dates cannot be adjusted, NC-SARA staff can do the following to assist the institutions and SPEs encountering renewal delays:

  • As soon as an institution or SPE recognizes the participating renewal date will be missed, begin processing the Institution Participation Deadline Extension form which can be found at https://www.nc-sara.org/administrative-forms.
  • NC-SARA will be waiving late fees for payments received by U.S. Mail within 14 days of the due date because staff is working remotely and will not be receiving mail on a regular basis.
  • NC-SARA is working closely with compact directors, SPEs and institutions with specific delays in both approval and processing. Please reach out to your compact director with specific concerns.

Please know that NC-SARA staff will continue to monitor the situation.
